Morgana/Nikki – babysitting Morgan
Morgana watched from the doorway, leaning her shoulder on the ivory doorframe and gazing down unseen with butterflies in her stomach to Nikki and their nephew, her wife on her knees, scrabbling around after the toddler with a smudge of blue paint on her cheek and a freshly-painted wooden train steaming its way across the carpet under her steam.
“Fancy one of our own?” Morgana called softly, smiling as Nikki stopped abruptly and looked up at her with perfect surprise, a lock of golden hair falling down into her eyes – Morgan looked up to Morgana too and ran to her, jumping up into her arms and wrapping her in a paint-sticky hug.
“Do you mean it?” Nikki asked breathlessly, her hand hovering above the train trembling, shaking in time with the pounding of her heat, a beat that quickened when Morgana nodded, smiled and knelt down beside her – Morgan still in on her hip – to press a kiss to her lips, sealing the promise.
Gwen/Sybil - Visiting after Gwen leaves
“M’lady,” Gwen gasps, her mouth forming a small ‘O’ and her bright eyes opening wide, taking in the utterly unexpected sight of Lady Sybil Crawley, a vision in raw sky-blue silk.
“Hello Gwen,” Sybil says sweetly, that heart-stopping smile of hers bringing the stars down into her eyes and the blush of a summer-pink roses to her cheeks, “I thought I might see how you are settling in.”
And Gwen hears what her lady doesn’t say – I’ve miss you – it was easy to hear, it had been what she said too.
Hermione/Tonks – blue tinted forests
“Is it… Is it real?” Hermione whispered, her voice heavy with wonder as she reached out to brush her fingers along a wispy branch of a weeping willow – it was glowing blue.
“Do you like it? Its bioluminescence, not magic just… yes, it’s real,” Tonks explained, taking a step forward and placing a trembling hand on the young witch’s shoulder – she so wanted to get to have gotten this right.
“It’s beautiful,” Hermione promised, turning back face Tonks, her purple hair turned indigo by the light from the trees, “I love it.”
Morgana/Morgause – WWII Nurses
Morgana looked out over London, gazing at the plumes of smoke and the flickering glow of another street that wouldn’t be standing come morn.
“You should not be up here,” Morgause called over the siren’s scream, her brow creased with worry.
“Look at it, look what the world has turned in to,” Morgana cried, her voice hoarse with tears – she kept her eyes on the burning city, Morgause’s arms slipping around her waist, “it’s a thousand years after our war and people haven’t learnt a damn thing.”
Gwen/Morgana – Ancient Rome
“Will that be all, my lady?” Gwen asked, her eyes downturned, deferential.
Morgana kept a cool silence, waiting for the new boy that her husband had bought her to gather up the platters and leave. When he slipped soundlessly from the room, she stepped forward and lifted the girl’s chin, a smile passed between them, “I don’t think so, do you?”
